"Not too pleased with the purchase so far. We picked out a bag that was hanging on the shelf. They replaced it with a new one sealed in a bag. When we got it home and opened it up. It had an awful smell to it. It’s been close to 3 weeks and smell is still as strong as it was when first opened it up."
"I have used this style of bag for years now. I love how many compartments there are. It fits everything I need with ease and is great quality too. When you first get the bag it is quite stiff but as you use it becomes more flexible. The straps don't fit me that well due to the stiffness of material but I believe over time this will change."
"I love the durable, well made style and all the pocket options. So many great colors too! However, my bag was shipped and came out of its 📦 ng smelling like a wet dog. I'd like to exchange it for a non smelly backpack!"

"Wasn’t what I wanted, so I ordered another one from you, then you charged me return postage when your policy states if I’m replacing it with another one of your products I don’t need to pay for the return Take more than one day to get a response on an email and you have become another company with no humans to speak to. I won’t be buying from you again"

"I am not too sure if Herschel has changed the quality for every bag or specific colours, but do not waste your money on the gray cross stitch. Not only do you not get the leather base, the velvet lining is no longer there and is replaced with the same lining given in the classic bags. and its just overall sad. The colour was also alot darker than seen on the website. Then to return everything, you have to pay 5 dollars if you dont want the item exchanged (where there isnt much variety to begin with) you have to pay for the postage to send it back! You also dont get the full refund, just for the price of the bag! I had spent over 100 after tax and shipping just to be refunded not even 50% after I shipped it back. Overall very disappointing experience considering ive had two prior backpacks which I loved and adored."

"I have been using a similar Herschel backpack with a laptop compartment since 2020, and I was very satisfied with it. That is why I decided to order a new one. Unfortunately, I have to say that the overall quality of the new product has significantly decreased, even though the price has not been reduced. In the backpack I bought in 2020, both the sunglasses compartment and the laptop compartment were made of a soft, velvet-like material. The laptop compartment was also padded and felt protective, premium, and high quality. In the new product, however, the material used in these sections feels much cheaper and almost plastic-like. It does not give the same protective or premium feeling as the older version. I also noticed that the zippers feel lower in quality compared to my previous backpack. While the design is still nice, the overall material quality is clearly not on the same level as before. I fully respect sustainability efforts and appreciate brands trying to use more sustainable materials. However, I do not think it is right to reduce the quality of a product under the motto of sustainability, especially when the price remains the same. You can also see the photos of the backpack I purchased in 2020 attached for comparison. Overall, as a long-time Herschel customer, I am disappointed with the quality difference between the older and newer versions of this backpack."
